Tonight I’m swapping back pain for tooth ache. In changing my Invisalign tray again, tray number 8 here we go. I love the feeling of pressing a new tray on and feeling it pushing the teeth a little bit more toward their new positions.
My back was a little better after some TENS treatment. When I was talking to Jon about it I realised that it must have to do with me being home from work. I think it’s carrying Evelyn. I don’t carry her as much as before obviously, she’s getting older. But she’s also getting heavier. Yesterday I carried her from my parents house home cause she was upset. Ok it probably doesn’t tell you anything how far that is, it’s not far. But it was a challenge.. so that’s probably why my lower back on the right side hurts today. It’s always the same spot. I’m in desperate need of strengthening my core muscles too, that might help.
Anyway, we got so much done today. Jon fixed our car breaks so we have a car again. I tore down all old wallpaper in the upstairs hallway. And Jon did some lists in the kitchen. Little by little we’re making progress.
I use Wunderlist for keeping my to-do lists. So I’ve attacked this summer vacation agile style, doing small tasks every day. It keeps you moving forward even though it might take a while.
Good night now. Kids finally fell asleep… 3 more sleeps until the UK. Yay!
Hi I’m lying in bed with Evelyn, I got a really sore back. I don’t know what I’ve done. But it might have to do with being with the kids alone all week. And I’ve also been working on removing wallpaper and painting the stairs for the 350th time.
It’s super hot in Sweden as in many other places at the moment. So it’s hard to know what to do. But I seem to have managed to overdo it anyway. I’ve got the TENS machine on so I hope that will help.
We bought a carpet for the stairs and upstairs hallway. But to be able to install it, we need to fix the walls and the stairs first. If we get that done we’ve finally finished with renovating the downstairs (except bathroom and laundry which is not projects we’re planning on anytime soon). Then we can finally do our bedroom and the kids upstairs, so excited for that!
As I mentioned in an earlier post, we have a kitchen renovation planned. The new kitchen (well most of it anyway) is already ordered and will be delivered the 28 mars. We went for an IKEA kitchen, but we haven’t bought everything at IKEA. For example we found another kitchen mixer, with that we needed a dishwasher water switch and the induction stove. Also the fan, but it hasn’t arrived yet.
The new kitchen is black, matt black. And the tiles are matt white. Matt is the way we do things. ;)
The kitchen mixer we found on Amazon (adlink). It’s one of those where you can pull out the end bit and use to spray water.
I’m very happy with this choice and I hope the black nuances will work well together even though we picked and mixed. The sink is also matt black.
Because the mixer doesn’t come with a built in switch for the dishwasher we had to buy a seperate one and we found this in… hold on…. matt black. For insurance reasons you really should have one of those in place.
And finally; a completely ordinary stovetop!
I’ll keep you updated on the progress of our future kitchen. Maybe I should show you all what it looks like today… It’s the original kitchen frÃ¥n when the place was build 1979. The previous owners have however painted the doors – in a very shiny yellow colour. Now that’s something to look forward to isn’t it?!
Oh I know, I know… my blogging is terrible. I go through doubts that it’s even worth having a blog as I don’t tend to it the way I would want. Reasons for this is habit I guess, having a day job and two small kids. The last two arguments should also be my reason to blog – sharing my life. But oh well, maybe the habit will come eventually. Another reason I really want to get into blogging again is that I’m convinced writing is a terrific habit to have. Especially writing for an audience.
One of the things from our life I want to share is our renovation projects at our house. Everything is going pretty slow and that’s ok with us, as we’re doing everything by ourselves so we need to cope and also for financial reasons.
In spring already I bought this wallpaper on sale that I really wanted. It’s been showing up all over the blog sphere in Sweden, but I’m not just falling for a trend, I’m genuinely in love with the feeling of this pattern! This week we got it up! I’m so happy now. It was our first pattern match wallpaper and we made it! The area (hallway) is not finished yet though and won’t be for a while so I’ll keep you in the loop. If I manage to keep this blog thing up that is.
The wallpaper is Dancing Cranes from Engblad & co, if anyone is wondering.
